I've grown fond of Gala apples. I like Honeycrisp too, but they're more expensive.

Wendy likes the tart apples like Braeburns.

Galas are good. Cheap, probably because they're grown in great quantity.

Once in a blue moon I like a Granny Smith.

Gala or Golden Delicious. I like to make pie from a mix of Gala and Granny Smith. You get a tart bite mixed with a softer sweeter bite.
