Re: Fleetwood Mac Song

They certainly aren't one of my favorite groups, but they have so many songs that are completely ingrained in my mind.  My first thought was landslide or little lies.

Due to itunes or getting older, a lot of my favorites have lost their spark, or its there but somehow diffrent or duller.

This song is one of the few exceptions.

I never knew the name of that song.  Only listened to them on the Radio and they usually don't tell you the names of the songs, just play lots of long sets.  At least that is how LA radio was long ago.  One DJ always did Stevie Nicks interviews.  It always helps when they live in LA when they are not on tour.

Re: Fleetwood Mac Song

One of the most versatile rock and roll bands ever.  With three great voices (Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks) to trade vocals and very underrated musicianship this band produced one of the most epic albums in the history of music.  No music collection is complete unless it contains a copy of the album Rumors.  They're so versatile that you can almost forget its the same band from one song to the next and it's hard to find another band that sounds exactly like them.

I'd guess everyone who listens to music knows at least one of their songs by heart.

My favorite: You Make Loving Fun - Christine McVie's voice makes this song about falling in love.

Second favorite: Gold Dust Woman - Classic song about addiction.

BTW I always liked the contrast between McVie and Nicks.  McVie was always upbeat and tangible with her lyrics while Nicks was always obscure and mystical.  They balanced each other perfectly because just when I was about to start the album over again for the 10th time to try and figure out just what the heck Nicks was singing about, along would come a song by McVie that was easy to grasp.

To me that ability to offer so many different types of work made them a great band.

Son, you've got a panty on your head.

Re: Fleetwood Mac Song

I'd have to agree with Landslide (the live version).  Though if spinoffs are allowed, I'd go with Lindsey Buckingham's Holiday Road.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

Sara, my second favorite, I named my youngest Sarah because of this song.
