Topic: Weekly TV show

Few rules to this one.  The show must be weekly (something like American Idle that has 2 shows a week is fine).  The show must be nationwide (no local news, etc) and it must still be on the air (something in between seasons is fine or viewable on the web like hulu).  The goal is to provide something that someone else could tune into.

My favorite show on TV is Supernatural.

The show is about 2 brothers that hunt supernatural creatures like ghosts, vampires, demons, etc.. and will be starting it's 5th season soon.  There is a certain level of cheese to it, but the writing is great, the story line is continuous, and I laugh my ass off watching it more often then not.

Mine has to be Dexter.  For cartoons it is Bleach.

Re: Weekly TV show

The main character is a lot like most of us (only better looking).  He's an uber geek that works at the Buy More (i.e. Best Buy).  He unwittingly gets forced to work with government spies to thwart the plan of the scary evil organization.  Together with his "handlers" (a hot blonde and a mr. macho tough-guy), they proceed to get into deep doodoo in every episode.  It's a little along the lines of a Naked Gun or Pink Panther, but with more of a plot and not as much slap-stick.

If it sounds interesting to you, I'd suggest starting with season 1 and catching up on all the previous episodes before diving in to the upcoming season.  You may be a little lost otherwise.

They have a bunch of episodes on Hulu.  They also have "catch up" clips.

They also have Jayne from Firefly.

Re: Weekly TV show

Firefly, loved that. Just like the Game Traveller, ( D&D in space in the future and way more complex big_smile ).

Ikky, a big thanks.
I've finally gotten around to watching Chuck.  So far I've watched all of the 1st season and about a 3rd of the second.  Chuck has soared to one of my top 5 shows.  Chuck vs. Tom Sawyer was freaking great (missile command episode).

Re: Weekly TV show

Season 3 has started and it is not disappointing!

The little lady and I also watch Being Erica.  A woman is allowed to go back in her life and redo regrets that she has, which makes her become a better person.

I still love 24 ... and oh yeah, NCIS and just recently discovered Criminal Minds.  The skinny geeky looking guy that plays Reid is hot!

Re: Weekly TV show

More Chuck..

This show has some of the best geek stuff ever.  First, you got a Tron and a Dune poster in the guys room.  Then they have an episode about an arcade game kill screen.  Next they have a little old asian guy named LoPan, and it is the same dude playing him!  After that, Gary Cole comes in with an alias of Jack Burton... double BTILC reference.  The next episode had a guest star playing Sgt. Al Powell, you know the guy from Die Hard.

The guest stars in this show are great and the culture references are rivaling my beloved Supernatural.  Tuesday or Wednesday of this week I plan to be up to date on the series big_smile

Re: Weekly TV show

We had a little Chuck Season 3 get together for the 1st episode and there was the line: may your first born child be a masculine child.

Only I got that one.
