Topic: Follieisms

We Follies have been together a long time and as such we've kind of developed a language.  You'll see these thrown around from time to time and on our old boards we had a long list.  We'll be rebuilding it here.

Re: Follieisms

A bunch that I'll add right off the bat.

1. Sockified - Meaning to be lost and constantly circle left.  When he first started playing MMOs Socky was constantly lost so he always went left when presented with a choice of right or left.  This led to him running in giant circles always to the left.

2. Mareel - Means to fall asleep at the keyboard while your team is involved in a tough engagement or fight or when your avatar is in mortal danger.

3. Giggity - Stolen from the Family Guy by The Punk Rock Kid and used on Ventrilo whenever.  No real meaning but tends to be used as an expression of "me likey".

4. Cowplop - Older members of the Follies greet each other in games and generally in communications with this.  It's a corruption of the Klingon word "K'apla", meaning success in battle.  The oldest members of the Follies met online playing a game called Starfleet Command II : Empires at War and most of us, with the exception of a couple of furry Khzinti (Mirak), were Klingons.  However we just couldn't bring ourselves to act quite right so "K'apla" became "Cowplop".

5.  "Sausages!" or "Please Sausages!" or "Sausage!" - Stolen from a Bud Lite Commercial by Sockfoot and Roktt and used as a response to the phrase, "What do you want to do?"  Loosely translated it means "PvP".

Re: Follieisms

Grixx pull - to bodily pull or aggro mobs.  Usually unintentional.  Named after a player named Grixx who did it all the time in DAOC.

Have you had your derp today?

Re: Follieisms

Buttsecks - General anarchy and fun at the expense of another player or group usually because they have proven to be buttheads and need buttsecks to straighten them out.

Re: Follieisms

Should Straightened out and Buttsecks appear in the same sentence wink

Re: Follieisms

I would like to propose a new Folliesim: SST=Squiggy Standard Time. it is 3 hours behind PST and 6 hours behind EST.
